Prices of RTX 30 Series GPUs Falling Down in Germany – What to Expect?
Last but not least, we have some good news from Germany, where our favorite Nvidia graphics cards are on sale. There are now cheaper RTX 30-Series graphics cards that were previously out of reach for the average consumer. AMD’s RX 6000 Series GPUs are dropping in price at a faster rate than Nvidia’s flagship cards, according to an article published by 3DCenter.
When higher-end cards dip toward MSRP, we should also see lower-end graphics cards go down, if the prices of higher-end cards have dipped. It is evident that Nvidia GPU prices have begun to fall since the beginning of August 2021. A look at the graph provided by 3DCenter indicates that German prices have decreased drastically over the past few years.
Nvidia’s RTX 30-Series and AMD’s RX 6000 Series intersect in July 2021, as you can see. The price of the RX 6000 series keeps rising as the RTX 30-Series drops to its MSRP value.
Comparison of Prices from May to August
The low demand for crypto mining has led to a decline in Nvidia GPU prices, which were above 300% of MSRP in May 2021. At the moment, high-end Nvidia GPUs are selling at 150% of their MSRP value in August 2021. Due to the availability of more stock in just three months, these inflated prices have fallen by half.
AMD’s RX 6000 series GPUs have been steadily rising in price for no clear reason. In May, AMD GPUs were priced higher than they are now in August, but they remain affordable. As of May 2021, more than 200% of the MSRP value of the RX 6000 GPUs had been sold. Currently, the percentage stands at 160% in August.
What to Expect in the Coming Months
Considering the data provided by 3DCenter, the decreased demand for mining GPUs, and our own experience, it seems likely that Nvidia will continue bringing down its prices in the coming months. At that point, you should be able to get your hands on high-end and midrange graphics cards.
There is a possibility that AMD will continue to increase the price of its RX 6000 GPUs or they may stick with the current price. RTX 30-Series graphics cards are becoming more affordable every day, which means that volumes are increasing. There will come a time when the average PC gamer will be able to purchase a high-end GPU without taking out a loan.
